Maunga Kākaramea, also known as Rainbow Mountain, is conveniently located just a 20-minute drive away from Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park. This family-friendly trail offers a short 15-minute walk that leads you to two stunning crater lakes.

However, if you're looking for a more panoramic view, you can extend your hike by another 1.5 hours to reach the summit and enjoy a complete 360-degree vista.

Whakarewarewa Forest

If you're searching for a local gem, visit the Whakarewarewa Forest, also known as The Redwoods, just a convenient 5-minute drive from our holiday park – it's an absolute must-see.

Kuirau Park

Lake Tikitapu

The Blue Lake Track is a 5.5km popular trail that circles the lake. Locals and visitors love it and enjoy wandering through the beautiful native bush. The track drops into sandy beaches at each end of the lake, and dogs on leads are permitted on it.

The lake is about a 15-minute drive from Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park, offering a nice escape out into the bush to balance your stay.
